Joe Ragont
Joe attended Lane Technical High School where he majored in Art and Design. He briefly attended Northwestern University Evening School and earned credits in Creative Writing and Journalism. After military service Joe attended classes at The Institute of Lettering and Design in Chicago, which prepared him for entry into the graphic design field.
For nearly fifty years Joe and wife Pat have operated Ragont Design a graphic design firm, based in the Chicago suburbs. Through the years Ragont Design has worked extensively with important publishing companies and authors. Their work involves the print media, including book design (both covers and interiors), brochures, catalogs, magazines, etc. In 1993 they were privileged to win the Christian Booksellers Association “Book Cover of the Year” award for their work on “The Coming Economic Earthquake.”
In 1978 Joe Ragont began leading a weekly Men’s Bible study that met early in the morning at his office. The established format was to study the Bible for an hour and spend the remaining thirty minutes in intercessory prayer. Men stopped off on their way to work and stayed as long as they could. The study is still active and continues to meet each Thursday morning.
Joe has served on many church boards and ministries. He has taught extensively in local churches and spoken at a number of Bible conferences. In 1974 he served as Director of Christian Education at an inner-city church in Chicago.
In addition, Joe Ragont has written and illustrated a wide range of Christian Education material including teaching aids, leaders guides, etc. He has written numerous articles and given classes on teaching techniques and is highly regarded in the area of Christian teaching and communication.
Joe and his wife Pat and have been married for over fifty-seven years and have four children and two grandchildren. They reside in Inverness, IL.
