Leanne Malloy
Born in Ohio and raised in Indiana, Leanne’s writing reflects a midwestern sensibility and belief in God’s love, grace, and provision. Her first job at age fifteen was at a chain fabric store, followed by careers as a dietitian and psychologist. Scenes from her novels therefore include sewing, crafting, and an emphasis on the mind-body connection. Leanne’s Italian heritage, equating food with love and kinship, serves as a setting for other episodes in her books, as does her work with food pantries. Food as ministry resonates strongly with her.
She and her husband live in Indiana, filling their time tending to their parents, volunteering at their church, and traveling for scuba diving (him) and snorkeling (her). Since Leanne has never been adept in the water, dislikes breathing through her mouth, and is a bit claustrophobic, snorkeling suits her just fine. Trips to Charleston to visit their daughter and their lovable but annoying AusieDoodle grand-dog round out the couple’s time. Again, in addition to seeing their daughter, the ocean beckons on the South Carolina coast. The beach is always Leanne’s happy place, a setting to let the waves calm her breathing and to remember God’s creation and power.
A homebody at heart, Leanne’s life is full provided there are family and friends in frequent contact, opportunities to travel, and books to be written.
